      The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to promoting the interests of the community. With over 600 members, the chamber is concerned with  the island's economic viability  and with the vitality of the island's historical, cultural, environmental, and recreational features. These attributes position Nantucket as a premiere destination for visitors as well as providing a special way of life for its residents.<p>
The Nantucket chamber sponsors two annual island events, Christmas Stroll Weekend and April's Daffodil Festival Weekend. These celebrations, as well as the chamber's Chowder Contest and summer Sandcastle &amp; Sculpture Day, are longstanding traditions.<p>
The chamber's guidebook and Web site offer comprehensive information about the island, including accommodations, arts and antiques, history, dining, merchants, real estate, services, beaches and  recreation, transportation, special events and more. <p>
